Applications will soon close for the British Equestrian Federation’s England Excel Talent Programme.  The Programme has been developed to extend the rider talent pathway below the UK Sport funded World Class Programme, to identify and nurture up and coming riders who demonstrate the potential to go on and win medals in the future.

Murphy, nicknamed ‘Gerry,’ the three month old foal rescued by the RSPCA earlier this month after being hit by a vehicle and found with injuries including burns all over his body, has settled into his temporary home at RSPCA Millbrook.

While riders know all about the physical, emotional and social benefits of spending time with horses, a new campaign urges them to share their passion with those who don’t.  Launched by the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) the empowering new campaign is called ‘This Girl Can Ride’ and encourages women (particularly those aged +26) to discover a love of horses.

The RSPCA is appealing for more information after a young filly and a gelding were left stranded with one of the horses on the brink of death on May Hill Common earlier this month.
