British Team Confirmed For Strzegom Nations Cup

The British team set to compete at the fourth leg of the FEI CICO3* Eventing Nations Cup series, which will be held in Strzegom, Poland next weekend (25-28 June 2015) has been confirmed by Team Manager Philip Surl.

Following on from a home leg at Houghton Hall in May, the team will be hoping to put in a good performance in Poland after finishing second to Germany at the event last year.

The team, supported by the National Lottery UK Sport funded World Class Programme are (in alphabetical order);

Jodie Amos with Figaro Van Het Broekxhof, a ten year old gelding by Tauber Van Het Kapelhof, owned by Barbara Cooper
Sarah Bullimore with Valentino V, a thirteen year old gelding by Perion, owned by Christopher D Gillespie and rider
Emily Llewellyn with Greenlawn Sky High, a twelve year old gelding by Aldatus Z, owned by Cindy Llewellyn
Izzy Taylor with KBIS Starburst, an eight year old gelding by Cougar, owned by KBIS

Outside of the Nations Cup competition, British riders Pippa Funnell and Tina Cook  are heading out to Strzegom to compete at the event, with Izzy Taylor and Sarah Bullimore also taking horses for the CCI3*.

Team Manager Philip Surl commented on the squad; “We had a really good time there last year, it’s a great event. It will be a very competitive field there this year with lots of nations and top teams in attendance. We have a mix of experienced and inexperienced horses on the team and I’m looking forward to the event.”

Full information including the team running order will be announced following the trot-up.

Now in its fourth year, the FEI Eventing Nations Cup series, which provides great opportunities for riders to gain team experience, continues with CICO3*s in Ireland, Great Britain, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Italy and Belgium before the climax at Boekelo (NED) in October.

The Equestrian World Class Programme has been funded through Exchequer and National Lottery funds via UK Sport.
